
Channel Overview
TV ASIA (Asia Star Broadcasting Inc.), was started by the legendary Indian movie star, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan in 1993, and was acquired by Asia Star Broadcasting Inc. (ASB), in April 1997 by Mr. H.R. Shah. As part of restructuring the network, a well-known entrepreneur and community leader in the United States, Mr. H. R. Shah took TV ASIA into a new era and gave TV ASIA a huge boost making it the premier network in North America for those from the Indian sub-continent.
TV ASIA launched in North America in 1993, becoming the first South Asian network in the region, preceding others that began in 1998 and later.
This coast-to-coast ethnic television channel caters to the South Asian community who has the largest distribution among all the other South Asian channels.
